Tomorrow at this time...

...I'm already on the way to Brazil!
Can't believe that this is true. It feels like just a short time there were about 100 days left.
And now: 1 DAY!! 24 HOURS!!

But first of all: Oi e Bom dia todos!
My big suitcase
So today was my last day in Germany, but it wasn't really special. I just packed the last things and downloaded some music, so that I have something to do in this 12 hours of flying.

The biggest problem I had in the last day was my suitcase. It's just to heavy! My organisation say we can only take 20kg with us, but Lufthansa (the airline) allows 23kg. It's very weird.
My suitcase weight between 20 and 21kg now depented on how I position it on the scale. I hope it ok like that.
My hand luggage weights about 7kg, really close to excess luggage, but I hope it'll work like that.
But I was very stressed because of packing my bags the last days...

Last Thursday I had my "Até logo" (Goodye) - Party with my family. Nearly my whole family was there and it was a great evening. We had a barbecue and I ate so much :D
I'll miss them all so much.

My "Goodbye" sign my mum mad :)

I love you all! And I'll miss you ♥
I can't describe my feelings at the moment. I'm really happy that it all starts tomorrow and I'm very, very excited too. But of course I'm also nervous. And I feel like I haven't realise that I'm one year away from my home yet. I'm in a roller coaster of feelings at the moment.

So I don't think there's more to say.
My post next post is defently from Brazil *-* And maybe I'm going to make a video during the flight and the stay at the airport of São Paulo (but just if you want to see one).

And by the way: Thank you for over 2000 page views. OBRIGADA! ♥
I wish you all a good time e até logo,

London, Holidays & my trip to Varginha

Oi e Boa tarde,

Today my holidays started, so it was my last school day in Germany for a long time. I couldn't realise it, even I got a really nice "Goodbye"-Card by my class. But I had a great finish with them because of your study trip to London last week.

And this is the subject I want to start with:
Our trip began on Sunday the 14th of July at 10 o'clock in the evening. We travelled by bus and it was a long and hard journey without much sleeping. We arrived in Dover (England) at 11.30 in the morning and went to Canterburry. We had a great time there - the weather was great! - and I bought lots of souvenirs there.
After 3 hours we went back to Dover and we walked along the white cliffs of Dover and the view was such amazing *-*
At 18pm we arrived in a suburb of London and there our host familes picked us up. I lived in a family togehther with another girl from my class and it was ok. Our family was nice, but we didn't talked much, just in the morning when our host dad brought us to the meeting point. But the food was better then I thought and the dog was really sweet :)

On our first day we made a Thames tour and saw lots of famous buildings. We also visited Tower Bridge (my favorite sight in London), the Tower of London and Trafalgar Square. I took lots of photos on this day.

The next day we went to the London Dungeon (a Chamber of Horrors) in the morning. It didn't like it, because I didn't understand the story (it was a horrible English!!) and without the mouses at the beginning it was scary.
After that we went to Covent Garden and Camden Market, but I hate markets, so I didn't have fun.
It wasn't my day.

The third day was much better. In the morning we took a walk on the Thames and then to the Buckingham Palace. We came just in time for the changing of the guard and saw this interesting event.
After that we walked to the Hide Park and mad a break there (nobody really moved away from the first lawn where we sat down).

After break we went to Piccadilly Circus by Tube and then to Oxford Street for shopping. We had 2 1/2 hours free time there, but it wasn't enough. I just saw the first stage of the Primark Store.
From Oxford Street we went to Greenwich Park where we met the two other classes and had a picnic and then started our way back home.

The trip home was a lot more tiring even I slept more than on the outward trip. I was so happy when we arrived at our school and could go home.

In summary I can say that I really enjoyed the trip and London is a really interesting and nice place and want to visit again someday.

Yesterday my counselor told me how I'm going to travel from São Paulo to Varginha:
I'm going to take a flight from SP to Belo Horizonte in the noon and arrive in BH at about 1pm, then my counselor are going to pick us (the other AFSer going to Varginha) up and we're going to travel to Varginha by bus. I'll arrive at my host family's house at about 9pm (Brazilian time).
It will be a long and hard journey, but I'll have enough time to sleep when I arrived at my new home.

So now to the actual preparations for my year abroad:
My cosmetic articles :D
- I think I have almost all the cosmetic articles I need
- I have all the clothes I need
- I have my entire hostess gift (but I won't write about them before I give them to my host family, because they read my blog)
- My packing list is almost complete

What I still have to do before I depart to Brazil:
- Make my "Até à vista!" (Goodbye) - Party (it's tomorrow)
- Pack my suitcases (the hardest thing! ;))
- Say goodbye to my family

The next days will be a bit stressful and I think I'll get more and more nervous every day, especially after Friday when my exchange student is gone.

I don't know when I will post again, I think next week, shortly before my departure.
If you have questions, just ask me.

I hope you liked that post.

Abraços e até logo,

School, London and a Brazilian exchange student

Oi e Boa noite,

23 days left, my To-Do-List is getting shorter and today my last week of classes began. Everything is coming so real at the moment and the time is passing sooo fast. In some moments I’m really nervous, but I can’t wait to go!

COUNTDOWN!

My last “normal” school weeks began today, but although there are still about 2 ½ weeks until my holiday left, it’s the last time I’ll see the most of my teachers. The reasons there for are our study trip to London next week (I’m really excited!) and then there are only three days left. In these days we won’t have lessons. On Monday we’re going to have a “Top-Day” (I don’t really know what we’re gonna do on this day), on Tuesday we have “Sports Day” (my friends and I have chosen Hip-Hop) and on Wednesday we are getting our school report. Wednesday will also be my last school day in Germany for a very long time!

So as I said above, my class level is going to do a study trip to London next week. We are going to live in host families (which are paid) near the city. Two of my friends and I are going to in live in Belvedere, a district a bit outside of London.
One negative thing is that we’re going there by bus. We will need about 20 hours but we are going to have a stop in Canterbury, one of the most beautiful cities of England.
We are going to stay only three days in London, but we have a big program. I think these days will be very stressful. Anyway London is a very, very nice city and I’m happy to have the chance to go there now. And so I think it worth it.
I’ll tell write a post about our trip to London after my return and then there not even two week left until my departure to Brazil (OMG O.o).

Another thing I want to tell you about is that my family is hosting a girl from São Paulo at the moment. She’s here with her school and for about 4 week all the students are living in host families. Our Brazilian is called Fernanda and she’s sharing a room with me.
It’s very interesting to have someone from Brazil here, because she know a lot about the country and can tell me so many things. And she speaks Portuguese – but at the moment I’m too shy to speak it, because I think my pronunciation is horrible. But I want to change that fact, so I have to aim to just speak Portuguese with her for one day (it will be a very quiet day :D).

Fernanda & me at Konstanz (sorry for the bad qualitity!)
So I don’t know when I’ll post again, maybe not until I’m back from London (except you have any ideas, wishes or questions for a post?)

Até logo e um bom tempo pra todos!

Abrações,

  Sandra
