Today my holidays started, so it was my last school day in Germany for a long time. I couldn't realise it, even I got a really nice "Goodbye"-Card by my class. But I had a great finish with them because of your study trip to London last week.
And this is the subject I want to start with:
Our trip began on Sunday the 14th of July at 10 o'clock in the evening. We travelled by bus and it was a long and hard journey without much sleeping. We arrived in Dover (England) at 11.30 in the morning and went to Canterburry. We had a great time there - the weather was great! - and I bought lots of souvenirs there.
After 3 hours we went back to Dover and we walked along the white cliffs of Dover and the view was such amazing *-*
At 18pm we arrived in a suburb of London and there our host familes picked us up. I lived in a family togehther with another girl from my class and it was ok. Our family was nice, but we didn't talked much, just in the morning when our host dad brought us to the meeting point. But the food was better then I thought and the dog was really sweet :)
On our first day we made a Thames tour and saw lots of famous buildings. We also visited Tower Bridge (my favorite sight in London), the Tower of London and Trafalgar Square. I took lots of photos on this day.
The next day we went to the London Dungeon (a Chamber of Horrors) in the morning. It didn't like it, because I didn't understand the story (it was a horrible English!!) and without the mouses at the beginning it was scary.
After that we went to Covent Garden and Camden Market, but I hate markets, so I didn't have fun.
It wasn't my day.
The third day was much better. In the morning we took a walk on the Thames and then to the Buckingham Palace. We came just in time for the changing of the guard and saw this interesting event.
After that we walked to the Hide Park and mad a break there (nobody really moved away from the first lawn where we sat down).
After break we went to Piccadilly Circus by Tube and then to Oxford Street for shopping. We had 2 1/2 hours free time there, but it wasn't enough. I just saw the first stage of the Primark Store.
From Oxford Street we went to Greenwich Park where we met the two other classes and had a picnic and then started our way back home.
The trip home was a lot more tiring even I slept more than on the outward trip. I was so happy when we arrived at our school and could go home.
In summary I can say that I really enjoyed the trip and London is a really interesting and nice place and want to visit again someday.

I'm going to take a flight from SP to Belo Horizonte in the noon and arrive in BH at about 1pm, then my counselor are going to pick us (the other AFSer going to Varginha) up and we're going to travel to Varginha by bus. I'll arrive at my host family's house at about 9pm (Brazilian time).
It will be a long and hard journey, but I'll have enough time to sleep when I arrived at my new home.
So now to the actual preparations for my year abroad:
|My cosmetic articles :D|
- I have all the clothes I need
- I have my entire hostess gift (but I won't write about them before I give them to my host family, because they read my blog)
- My packing list is almost complete
What I still have to do before I depart to Brazil:
- Make my "Até à vista!" (Goodbye) - Party (it's tomorrow)
- Pack my suitcases (the hardest thing! ;))
- Say goodbye to my family
The next days will be a bit stressful and I think I'll get more and more nervous every day, especially after Friday when my exchange student is gone.
I don't know when I will post again, I think next week, shortly before my departure.
If you have questions, just ask me.
I hope you liked that post.
Abraços e até logo,
